Hey, Im Dave

When I was 10 years old, I started handcrafting vintage car mats for my dad's garage business, CocoMats.com. After school and every summer, I helped make mats, pack orders, attend car shows, deliver shipments, and talk with customers. It was there that I learned understanding the customer is just as important as understanding the product.

That mindset led me to Pratt Institute, where I earned a BFA in Digital Arts and later an MFA in Communication Design. Throughout school, I continued working at CocoMats, gradually wearing more hats as my role grew to include web design, branding, advertising, photography, and marketing.

I grew up making friends on the field, listening to Mets games on the radio, and watching Arsenal with my grandad. Those experiences sparked my fascination with how sports bring people together, from family traditions to communities of strangers. That fascination eventually became the focus of my master's thesis on sports fandom and community.

Outside of work, I'm usually uncovering old movie gems, out on a trail, or running with Hamish & Andy or Pretending to be People in my headphones.
